In commemoration of the day the Soviet Union withdrew its troops from Afghanistan, a conference with Afghan war veterans was organized at the NIS Atyrau dormitory.
Our compatriots Galiaskar Akhpayev, Muratbek Kenzheakhmetov, and Serik Sarkulov, who shown courage and bravery, attended the occasion. At the ceremony, veterans reminisced about the tumultuous years and urged the younger generation to realize the value of quiet times and acquire a solid education for the future of the nation.
Students paid honor to warriors, demonstrated their abilities, posed questions regarding the Afghan war, and received relevant information. In addition, they read «Afghanistan in the Distance» by Aigul Yermekova, an associate professor at Atyrau University of Oil and Gas.
